Single figure athlete and mum Alli Keating sharing the keys to overcoming daily challenges. . . .
I would like to share with you how I learnt how to overcome daily challenges to help get to my goals and to build prosperity in all aspects of my life.
I have been in the Fitness Industry for over 20 years personal training, teaching group fitness classes, managing health clubs and running nutritional workshops. I also have a Spiritual healing business I have been working in for the past 10 years, teaching guided meditation, intuitive reading and healing and Reiki. I now combine my spiritual work with my personal training and my Mind Body and Spirit workshops called The Transformational Warrior.
However, despite all of these learned skills, I would still battle daily issues and found it hard to overcome negative emotions. In 2009 I had a heart attack (a virus attacked my heart) from overtraining for a kickboxing tournament while I was feeling under the weather. My cardiologist stopped me training for 8 months and I had to wear a heart rate monitor. I couldn’t get my heart rate over 100 bpm during this time, which was a huge wake-up call for me. I started journaling my emotions and studying metaphysics while I had the time off training. I started meditating for 5 minutes every morning (and still do). I also wrote in a gratitude diary writing at the end of the day two things I was grateful for, and I still write in my diary. I would say an affirmation every day while I was meditating and would feel the affirmation working while in a meditative state. I couldn’t believe how quickly my thoughts changed to positive thinking and any negative thoughts I would have I would deal with straight away by reinforcing an affirmation and what I was grateful for. I would find it easier the more I did this to be able to overcome negative emotions quickly
I got the go ahead to train again and after three months of training and good clean eating, I competed in body building and did quite well considering..
Just after I competed, after my comeback from my heart attack, I then fell pregnant and had 12 months off training to nurture my body and my son as I was a single parent. So I had a lot to do. But I loved being a mum and not having to focus on anything else. I then went back to training and cleaner eating and gave myself 12 months to put my heels back on to compete onstage. I accomplished what I set out to achieve but felt I still had a long way to go mentally to overcome daily obstacles. But it got easier the more I practiced. I then gave myself another 12 months of cleaner eating and smart training with focus on my mental training, which was the key. I visualised the end results of my competitions and setting up my daily events and where I would be at the end, and it worked! I competed and did the best I have ever been and felt and accomplished my goals, even smashed them! I was so proud of where I had come mentally, spiritually and physically and felt it was all to start with the mind. I felt so energised and grounded at the same time.
The way I teach the principles of metaphysics is that we are all energy inside and outside of us, So we can then change our own energy from positive to negative. I teach the “Missing Link” of how this can be done through Daily Deliberate Actions via Mind Body and Spirit either in my One Day Transformational Workshops or through my online programmes and with the metaphysical handbook which will be coming out soon.
